Studio Tour in San Antonio, Texas

Jane Dunnewold has been an amazing mentor and teacher.  I have had the good fortune to be included in Jane's teaching program in San Antonio.  This course involves 5 intensive weeks in her studio spread over 2 years.  Ten of us completed this program together in April and Jane offered us the experience of showing our work to the public, during our last session together.  For some of us this was the very first time they had been involved in mounting a show of their work, writing artists' statements, and exposing their 'artistic expression' to the world.  We were part of a neighbourhood artist tour and had many visitors with much great feedback.  As a result of this experience, we have created an 'on-line' tour. I have created a smilebox slideshow for the first time.  I hope you enjoy viewing the incredible diversity of artistic expressions as much as I did.  Working with a theme of "Stories of Migration, Contemporary artists interpret Diaspora", SAQA partnered with the George Washington Textile Museum and the results were inspiring!
